The SHARK BCB-300 has achieved something that had been believed to be impossible ever since. To build a Fun-Buggy solemnly based on requirement and features developed by the community of users.
Ultimately, even the colors and the look of the Buggy have been selected by the community of Buggy-Fans by a poll generated in
www.buggy-club.de.
History of the BCB
The class of Le7 vehicles (Buggys) has become street-legal across Europe ever since 2003. Sharkbuggy has been one of the first importers for these vehicles and has sold ~700 Buggys (Shark 150, Shark 250 Imperator) ever since.
In March 2007, a group of people from www.Buggy-Club.de approached us with the
“BCB-300” project and asked us if we were interested in distributing this type of Buggy across Europe.
www.buggy-club.de is the biggest online community (forum) in Germany consisting of various specialists, Buggy-Enthusiasts and even more interested members (actual count 1700) with a huge variety of Buggys that have been produced and seen on the market so far.
That, being said www.buggy-club.de is supporting all brands of Buggys. While native language is German in the forum, English-speaking users are welcome and being helped as possible.
It was autumn 2006, when a group of “18” (the BCB-initiators) gathered together. The group consisting of auto-mechanics, experienced enthusiasts and managers decided, that it was time to challenge a goal that had be considered as “unreachable” since the first Buggy showed up in Europe.
These guys were fed up with bad construction, bad quality, unbearable spare part service and / or too high prices regarding quality for Buggys and/or spare parts.
They opted for a vehicle, which could be handled by “the ordinary man” and not only by
experienced mechanics with a full garage of tools. Furthermore price and quality should match with the features provided.
Features like 2-gears (off-road / on-road) down to fuel-gauges in the cockpit for touring trips. The goal was a specification with 50+ items to be fulfilled.
At the same time it was important, that the spare-part availability was guaranteed.
After dozens of direct contacts with Far East manufacturers, the “group of 18” decided to
send two members (Groovy + Toto) to China. This was a week before Christmas 2006.
The idea was to present this specification and a sales-strategy to the Asian manufacturer(s)
and make them understand what the expectance level in Europe was like.
Starting as “self-Import” for their own use, the idea evolved into selling the Buggy across Europe.
Despite all obstacles (internally and externally of Buggy-Club) TBM, one of the biggest manufactures of Buggys in China could be eventually convinced to listen to the technical requirements, the strategic positioning on the market and the resulting, cross-branding spare-part business. Even regarding price-level an agreement could be found..
TBM agreed to incorporate almost all 50 improvements into one prototype – even without knowing this investment would pay out.
When Sharkbuggy was introduced to this project in March 07 it has only been a split-second decision to join this great project as European-Distributor.
The SHARK BuggyClubBuggy-300 has achieved something that had been considered to be impossible ever since. To build a Fun-Buggy solemnly based on requirement and features developed by the community of users.
Ultimately, even the colors and the look of the Buggy have been selected by the community of Buggy-Fans by a poll generated in www.buggy-club.de.
Thanks to a simple hierarchy and a new sales-strategy as well as the constructive help of the Chinese manufacturer TBM, we could achieve a price level for the BCB-300 far below any comparable Buggy in this quality range.
Yet, Buggy-Club is not financially linked to this project. www.buggy-club.de insisted on staying neutral to all brands of Buggys and will thus report about the BCB as if it was any other Buggy.
All the effort put into this project has been provided voluntarily, based on the wish to provide anyone interested to this hobby with a good Buggy for a fair price and a guaranteed spare-part supply.
The latter now is Sharkbuggy´s primary task. Due to the well established, direct contact with the real manufacturer, the trust TBM shows in the market strategy developed by Buggy-Club and the direct feedback about the BCB from Buggy-Club will help us improve the BCB-300 permanently.
At the same time we have been enabled to stock spare-parts for the BCB-300 as well as for all major brands on the market. This helps us to provide immediate support in case of technical issues.
This concept has already proven its functionality by the biggest sales in the shortest time in Buggy –history. Ever since Sharkbuggy was officially nominated distributor for the BCB-300 end of May 07 over 120 Buggys have been sold and 90 Buggys have been delivered in only 4 weeks.
What are the key advantages of the BCB-300?
The Chinese manufacturer TBM is one of the “Big” ones in Buggy-business
TBM provides Buggys to the market-leader
TJ-Powersports in the USA, brand-name “Hammerhead” as well as to Kinroad (2007 model).
In addition they supply to another high-price Taiwan Buggy-manufacturer.
Sharkbuggy exclusively sells the BCB-300 in whole Europe in combination with a centralized spar-part shop (most probably the biggest ever in Buggy-history).
The BCB-300 will be provided with a German “Fahrzeugbrief” (registration papers) and any COC / EEC papers necessary to allow an easy registration at your site.
Sharkbuggy provides a 24-month WARRANTY on the Buggy with a customer-friendly handling regarding issues.
Also, technical support and service for all customers.
Currently a dealer and service-station network is being build up.
Direct and neutral support through Buggy-Club (native English speakers welcome – host language is German). These guys have developed the Buggy.
The “BCB” has been developed according to the major European regulations and requirements. The “BCB” is not an “Off-Road Buggy that can go on the street”
The “BCB” is a “STREET-BUGGY with OFF-ROAD license”.
The “BCB” incorporates ~50 improvements over other Buggys – mainly focusing on “easy to use” and “user-maintenance-friendly” operation.
All improvements have been proposed by members of the Buggy-Club and realized by the manufacturer TBM.
